Travelling After Lip Blush: What You Need to Know

Planning a holiday or business trip soon after your lip blush appointment? ✈️
Here at Natural Lip Blush London, I get asked this all the time:

“Can I travel right after my lip blush session?”
“Is it okay to fly during healing?”

The short answer: Yes, but with a few smart precautions.

Here’s everything you need to know to keep your lips safe, healthy, and gorgeous while you travel.

🛫 Can You Fly After Lip Blushing?

Technically, yes — you can fly within hours of your appointment. However, I recommend waiting at least 24–48 hours, if possible.

Why?

  • Cabin air is very dry — this can slow down the healing process

  • You’ll need to reapply aftercare balm more often

  • Travelling can expose you to germs, changes in climate, and inconsistent hygiene

If flying is unavoidable, pack a small aftercare kit (I’ll help you prep this in the studio) and keep your lips hydrated constantly.

☀️ Traveling to a Sunny Destination? SPF Is Non-Negotiable

Sun exposure is one of the biggest risks to fresh lip blush:

  • It can alter the colour while healing

  • It can fade your pigment prematurely

  • It increases the risk of cold sore flare-ups

💡 Bring a high-SPF lip balm (minimum SPF 30), and reapply every 2–3 hours if you’re outdoors.

🧴 What to Pack in Your Lip Blush Travel Kit

  • Healing balm (the one I give you)

  • SPF lip balm

  • Sterile cotton buds (for clean applications)

  • A reusable straw (if you’re eating or drinking in public)

  • Hand sanitiser (for applying balm hygienically)

Bonus: Bring a scarf or mask if flying — the cabin air won’t hit your lips directly, and you’ll reduce contact with bacteria.

💦 Tropical Climate? Here's What to Watch

Humidity + sweat can increase the risk of:

  • Infection (especially if you’re touching your lips a lot)

  • Uneven healing if lips are constantly moist or wiped

Tip: Keep your lips clean and dry as much as possible, and don’t skip your aftercare balm — it creates a protective barrier.

⛔️ What to Avoid While Travelling

  • Swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms

  • Direct sunbathing

  • Heavy spicy or salty foods

  • Sharing drinks, glasses, or lip products

  • Touching or peeling your lips (even if tempted!)
