🎨 How I Match the Perfect Lip Blush Shade for Your Skin Tone
Here's a peek into my process — and why your skin tone plays such a key role.
1. Fair Skin with Cool or Pink Undertones
For clients with light skin and cool undertones, I usually recommend:
Soft pinks
Rosy beige
Neutral peach
💡 Goal: Add definition and a healthy flush without overpowering delicate features.
2. Light to Medium Skin with Warm or Olive Undertones
For olive or golden undertones, we often opt for:
Peachy tones
Dusty rose
Warm coral
💡 Goal: Enhance the lips with warmth and brightness while maintaining harmony with skin tone.
3. Deep Skin Tones (Medium-Dark to Deep Ebony)
Darker lips naturally have more melanin and may require a neutralisation session first to lift cool, purple, or blue tones.
Once that’s complete, I recommend:
Warm terracotta
Caramel rose
Brick red or rich berry
💡 Goal: Even tone, enhance shape, and create a subtle tint that works with—not against—your natural undertones.
💄 What About Dark Lip Neutralisation?
For clients with melanin-rich lips (especially where lips appear two-toned or cool-toned), I offer a technique called lip neutralisation before adding colour.
This step balances out any darkness or cool undertones so that future colour deposits evenly — without looking ashy or grey.
